Individual users typically cannot directly buy a Windows 11 LTSC key.

Windows 11 LTSC(Long-Term Servicing Channel) is designed specifically to cater to the unique needs of large enterprises and organizations. It is provided through Volume Licensing (VL) to these organizations and is not available for ordinary individual users to purchase. Even for those organizations, not all devices are suited for using Windows 11 LTSC.

The primary difference between Windows 11 LTSC and regular versions lies in the update frequency. LTSC versions offer feature updates approximately every 2-3 years, whereas regular versions receive updates more frequently.

Moreover, the LTSC version omits certain default applications that require frequent updates, such as Microsoft Store and Microsoft Edge. This means users cannot directly install apps or Progressive Web Apps (PWAs) from the Microsoft Store.

For individual users, the lack of some everyday functionalities and applications makes the LTSC version less appealing. Therefore, if you’re an individual looking to purchase a Windows 11 activation key, it’s more advisable to consider Windows 11 Home and Pro.

Previously, we wrote an article titled “Is Windows 10 LTSC the Best Windows 10 Edition, Now?” comparing Windows 10 LTSC with the regular versions, and concluded that Windows 10 LTSC is indeed the best Windows 10 version at present. This is because Windows 10 will reach its end of life on October 14, 2025, and Microsoft is currently only providing maintenance updates without adding new features.

However, Windows 11 is still a relatively young system with a lot of room for growth. It will see many improvements and new features in the future, such as the comprehensive integration of AI. For individual users, using Windows 11 LTSC is unnecessary.

Ensuring you have a version that meets daily usage needs can significantly enhance your user experience.
